It’s a year already…
It’s been a year already, ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!
I just can’t believe it, who knew? who saw? who imagined? who thought? We are a year older and a year wiser, a lot smarter and a lot more adventurous. We are more confident, more open, more understanding and working hard to get to where God wants us to be. We celebrate a year of God’s goodness, that’s what I call it. It’s been a year of growing, lots of learnings & disappointments, the different choices and decisions we have had to make but this all created great memories we look back to and say wow, this is how far you have brought us. We stuck together, we held each other’s hands through it all, we made sure we made the best out of each day that passed by and now we are here and all we can say is Thank You. It’s interesting how fast time flies without you noticing how much has been done.
We love technology. We love to make money. We love innovation. We are in a whole new world when there is a mixture of the three. We found ourselves in the year 2013 at the Meltwater Entrepreneurial School of Technology learning to become software entrepreneurs. We learnt skills from technology, communication and business to give us the necessary push to start a company.
Our story so far…

We stood the tests of time, sharing our thoughts with each other, improving upon our skills, standing before investors, sharing with the Lord and the world our greatest innovations, it’s amazing how the passion to change the world and their lifestyles with technology has transformed us to be the best we can be and we are still growing.
We would like to give a standing ovation to Wedlocker, an online wedding vendor directory we designed for both vendors and couples-to-be in Ghana, to easily plan for their weddings. That one innovation that moved from our minds to the drawing board to the phones, laptops and computers of people all over the world. That was the beginning of our entrepreneurial journey together, our first hassle, our first experience at putting ourselves to the test.
We worked effortlessly to get over 500 likes on our Facebook page(it was a big deal for us), we run our first social media campaign and not forgetting how we made our first cheque! Moving from shop to shop signing on wedding vendors, selling ad space, accepting feedback just to make our web platform less technical to more lovey dovey to suit our users. Behind the scenes no one knew we were a couple of geeks who had no idea what planning a wedding entailed but we gave it a shot. It was tough focusing on the best value we could offer but nevertheless the best is yet to come as we keep working on improving the Wedlocker experience, watch out for it.
After this, we knew we wanted to be together and things had to be official. Sacrifices were made, faith began to grow, bad habits were being corrected, good ones were being groomed. In all of this Shift Labs had to be rearranged so Ampersand could be born.
We had no clue what we were going in for but we just had faith. We still came to work like we had so much to do, we kept searching, we kept putting in our best, we cried, we prayed, we changed, we found a new us as we were searched for the next joy our minds and hands could play with. We kept going just because He was with us. Building software solutions for businesses and individuals has taught us to be patient, don’t give up and know that if an opportunity passes you by a better one is coming your way. If at first you don’t succeed try again, you will surely succeed. Oh bless the Lord for He is good and His mercies endureth forever, the Lord is good.
When we thought we we done with ideas, Car Care found a place in our hearts, no one understood what we were up to, we had no clue ourselves but we knew we would make it work. Toughest idea we have had to brainstorm on, took us out of our comfort zone and made us think twice about why we chose to take it on. But with no regrets it’s still a work in progress and we are enjoying every bit of it, the world thought we were done but this is just the beginning. The story hasn’t ended, the best is yet to come and we would like to say thank you to everyone who has supported us on our journey. Shout outs to our family and friends, fans and followers, critics and haters, clients and users, you have all contributed to who we are today. Cheers to a great year gone by and we are excited about what the future holds.
